Have you ever felt like you were born to do something? That’s how I feel about what I do. I was actually born in Cambridge, over on 73 Pemberton Street in 1984. I am named after a now defunct grocery store called Sage’s. The reason I’m here now is because my parents met when my dad taught “Introduction to Comedy Writing” at Cambridge Center for Adult Education.

Now, I’m a real estate broker and owner of the brokerage Cambridge Sage Real Estate. But how did I get here?

Let me tell you a bit more about my background and how I got into real estate.

I have always had a weird fascination with real estate starting in my early 20s. I went to Emerson College in downtown Boston and within my group of friends, I was tasked with finding a rental house for us in our sophomore, junior and senior years in downtown Boston.

In my sophomore year, I found a great deal for a duplex apartment on River St in Beacon Hill, one block from Charles St. That apartment was a steal, but it was nothing compared to what I found for our junior and senior years - a massive 1,800 square foot loft in Boston’s financial district with all utilities included and massive 10 foot tall windows. I still remember, I had been searching for an apartment for months and my parents and all the rental agents working with me hated me - they thought I was looking for a unicorn. They were right, but we found the unicorn anyway and we immediately took the loft the moment we saw it.

It turned out, the owner’s son had inherited the property and had no understanding of its true market value. My two roommates and I paid a few thousand dollars a month total for a loft in downtown Boston that was probably worth easily $6k-$8k per month even back in the early 2000s.

From finding rentals for my friends in college, I moved onto a fascination with real estate investments, scouring the “Bigger Pockets” real estate investing forum for hours on end in my early 20s, learning about different investing terms and strategies as well as how investors would find winning deals in different parts of the United States.

After college, I spent time in the television and film industry in New York before opening up a celebrity sponsorship sales company with my sister who was based in Los Angeles. I loved running my own business and building out a client base from scratch with customers like the Kardashians, Michael Phelps, and Universal Music Group, but I absolutely hated celebrity culture and sponsorship sales and after 5 years I shuttered the business.

Then I went into software sales for two years, where I made a lot of good friends and had some great experiences. However, that little voice in my head never stopped pushing me to get into real estate, which was my true calling. So I quit my job and with 6 months worth of savings I went all in on real estate.

I started with RE/MAX Destiny in Cambridge, an office full of experienced agents with 20-30+ years of real estate knowledge and a culture of sharing and helping one another. I will forever be grateful to the incredible agents and brokers I worked with over the years at RE/MAX who taught me so much about real estate and the local Cambridge/Somerville market.  I quickly became a top agent there and after 6 years I won numerous awards including:

  • Rookie of the Year (top performing new agent in my first year)

  • Torchbearer 2023 (top 5 agent for all RE/MAX agents under the age of 40 in MA in 2023)

  • Chairman’s club 2022 (over $500k in GCI closed)

  • Many Platinum clubs 2019, 2020, 2021 (over $250k in GCI closed)

  • RE/MAX Hall of Fame 2023 (over $1M in GCI over career)

  • For Year 2024: #38 in MA in March 2024, #55 in MA for April 2024, #10 in MA for May 2024, #12 in MA for June 2024, #3 in MA for July 2024, #15 in MA for August 2024, #5 in MA for September 2024, #1 in MA for October 2024, #9 in MA for January - June 2024, #6 in MA January - September 2024.

  • For Year 2023: #12 in MA for March 2023, #15 in MA for April 2023, #32 in MA for June 2023, #16 in MA in July 2023, #6 in MA for September 2023, #15 in MA January - September 2023, #17 in MA in January - December 2023.

  • For Year 2022: #49 in MA for January 2022, #39 in MA for March 2022, #6 in MA in June 2022, #47 in MA in September 2022, #45 in MA for November 2022, #19 in MA for January - December 2022.

In addition these awards, I was consistently a top 5 performing agent at a brokerage with over 50 agents, where I was competing with agents who have been in the business for 20, 30, and 40+ years. After a very happy six years at RE/MAX Destiny, I decided to leave in January 2025 and open up a small brokerage - Cambridge Sage Real Estate.

You may be asking - why do all these awards above matter? And the truth is, they don’t matter much to me, but they should matter, to some degree, to you (a potential client). Why? Because you want to work with an agent who is living and breathing your local market. This also means someone who is closing a lot of business - in my case that means closing a lot of seller business, buyer business and rental business.

Someone who is actively working in the business day in and day out will have specific advantages to those agents who are much less active:

  1. They will have a very strong understanding of what is happening in the market. On the sell side, that will help ensure you price your home in a way that will maximize your interest/offers, which will translate to the highest possible sales price with the best possible terms (maximizing how much you MAKE and how much you ultimately KEEP).

  2. Someone who is actively involved in the market has good relationships with other active agents - this can translate to winning in a multi-offer competitive situation if you are a buyer. It can also mean receiving access to off-market or coming soon properties before other buyers can view those properties.

  3. By being very involved in the market, agents will have an understanding on local changes to zoning, new planned development, neighborhoods gentrifying, schools updates and more - this can translate into understanding where opportunities exist where other agents may not see them. It can also translate into recognizing areas that could soon be less valuable before other agents/buyers realize an area is trending down, which ultimately protects you, the customer.

So what else will you get from me besides someone who lives and breathes the market?

First, you’ll get someone who is genuinely interested and passionate about what they do. I love what I do and I work 7 days a week from 8am until 10pm. I make myself available to you at your convenience to answer any questions you have and to get into properties whenever you need to.

I believe my passion drives my curiosity, which keeps me learning every day. I see my role as taking all my knowledge + experiences (that I absorb everyday) and giving it to you, so you can make an informed buying or selling decision, based on your unique circumstances. In other words, I spend many thousands of hours doing this real estate stuff, making mistakes, realizing big wins, learning about opportunities, etc so you don’t have to!

You’ll also get a loyal partner and someone you can trust for a lifetime. My entire goal in all that I do is to establish life long relationships with the clients I work with. I genuinely want you to succeed in whatever your real estate goals are and I try to deliver for my clients every day. I try to give you the whole truth and I believe that if I go out of my way to help clients every day, the work is rewarding and everyone ultimately wins in the end.

What you also get in me is someone who views the real estate process through an investment-centric lens. To me, whether you are buying a primary home or a multi-family investment, you must always understand the investment implications of your purchase. You should recognize the upside and downside of every real estate transaction because I know from first hand experience that real estate can dramatically change your financial future in a relatively short period of time.

I will never tell a client WHAT to do, but I will ensure they are equipped with the right information so they can make the best decision for their circumstances, taking into account both the financial as well as personal impact.

So if after reading all this stuff, you still have questions, it will probably be easiest to just give me a ring and I am happy to answer any question you may have. My direct cell phone number is 617-833-7457.
