Showing Your Unit to Tenants
If you live out in the burbs and you own an investment property, showing your unit may be a real pain. The same goes if you live outside the state or country.
What can make showing your units even more difficult, however, is when you decide to schlep from any of the above mentioned places in rush hour traffic for a tour, only to have a no-show potential tenant. The reality is, this is part of the rental business and it will never go away.
So I take that painful part of the process away from my clients and take it on myself.
After I take potential tenants on a tour of your unit, the next thing I do is share an update with you. Did the tenant(s) show up on time or did they arrive 30 minutes late with zero heads up? Do they expect the entire unit to be remodeled or were they fairly reasonable with their requests? Did they initially tell me it was a group of 2 and it turns out it’s a group of 6?
I will relay all this information to you, positive or negative, so you can have a comprehensive understanding of how the showing went.
